Vikrum Aiyer - Shaping Policy on Climate, Technology, and Labor

Vikrum Aiyer is a policy strategist and communications executive with experience spanning government, technology, and climate innovation. He currently leads global public policy at Heirloom Carbon Inc., overseeing national policy campaigns, government partnerships, and public engagement for carbon removal technology. Vikrum Aiyer has helped secure $600 million in federal funding and advance supportive regulatory environments for climate tech. He worked alongside a coalition that was instrumental in retaining a key energy & climate tax credit enhanced under President Biden, and extend by President Trump, in a landmark federal tax credit package.

An alumnus of UC Berkeley, Vikrum Aiyer also advises technology and energy companies. He has previously worked with Pano.ai and Focused Energy, supporting policy strategies that help startups navigate federal and state government partnerships and secure public funding opportunities.

Earlier, Vikrum Aiyer was vice president of global public policy and strategic communications at Uber/Postmates. He built and led the company’s government relations and communications strategy during a period of rapid expansion and regulatory debate around the gig economy. He joined negotiations with state governors and labor unions on employee rights legislation and advised the CEO and board of directors on regulatory risk and communication strategies.

Vikrum Aiyer served in President Obama’s administration at the White House (senior advisor for innovation and manufacturing policy) and at the Department of Commerce (deputy chief of staff). His work has been featured & published across CNN, The Hill, Huffington Post, Politico, and Los Angeles Times.
